The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in crisis over delays in maintenance of roads and new works, reports The Ministry of National Planning and Economic Policy. Report says that this is the worst performance in the last 4 years. As to The Ministry Housing and Human Settlements, the report says that up and till the second trimestre, only 12% of their annual goals have been reached and of these 25% of them are in critical delay. Fire Department alerts about possible fires due to “El niño”

The Fire Department warns that due to ‘El Niño’ (prolonged dry season) in the Pacific and with very heaving rains of late, it invigorates all undergrowth at the end of this rainy season, the public should be aware of dangerous fires with the up and coming dry season. Over USD 50.000.00 spent by RECOPE and INA for Christmas parties

The public is outraged as they find out that between The National Oil Distribution Company (Recope) and The Nation Institute of Learning (INA) are to spend over USD50.000.00 on Christmas Parties paid by taxes, as the President has ordered the no public spending on Christmas parties under order 034-P. However the law agreed to under a collective bargaining agreement gives these sectors this privilege. Now we must wait to the will of the Unions. An interesting outcome indeed awaits us. Small farmers fail to registre migrant worker

Of the around 2,500 small farmers who have failed to register migrant workers from both Nicaragua and Panama, are to be fined after the 1st of January 2016. Only 124 have signed up to register. Meanwhile the President of The Costa Rican Chamber of Exporters (CADEXCO) a nonprofit organization, argues that the law as is embodied, has not adjusted to this sector’s reality. Part time employment of these migrants by farmers is limited to the picking of coffee beans, cutting sugar cane, harvesting mangoes, pineapple and citrus fruits. Judiciary Invetigation Police intevened two ilegal piers in Limon

Two small non permit illegal piers in bays at Port Limon were intervened by the Judiciary Investigation Police as both are believed to have links with the drug trade. Investigations are going deeper into Municipal Government who has been tolerant of these after receiving an order from the court to destroy them both in 2011.
